My son just failed his driver's licence on a question relating to Fire Hydrants.

He was asked what was the correct sign for a Fire Hydrant which he answered as a yellow sign with FH in the middle as this is what it said in the road code we have.

They said it was a yellow circle with a line going through the centre of it.

Is this correct?

Sounds like somebody is being very pedantic if that's the only thing your son failed on.

Yes the road code has changed (not sure exactly when).

Sometimes it pays to go on-line to ensure you have the most up to date information
