Someone crashed into a car parked behind me which in turn pushed it into my car. The person who crashed has no insurance and neither do I.

I was wondering if the third party or comprehensive insurance of the person who was pushed into my car would possibly cover my damage?

It's the sort of accident we all dread having particularly if you are the last in line and almost the innocent party.

Yes, the third party cover or comprehensive insurance of the person who hit you should cover the damage inflicted to your car.

The hard part sometimes is getting the person to lodge a claim with their insurance so your car can be assessed and repaired.

If your car is able to be driven, take it to a panel beater to get a estimate of the repair costs. Do not however start any repairs in the hope you will be reimbursed later.

Definitely keep talking to the person who hit you is my best advice and ask them to make contact with their insurance company ASAP.

If you have no luck then the other course of action is get the car repaired and take legal action to recover your costs. A last measure action I would suggest.

Obviously one of the benefits of having full cover yourself is your car is repaired and the insurance company take the necessary steps to recover the repair costs from the uninsured party.
