I have a full Philippine car license that I need to convert to a NZ license.

A friend has said that I can convert the car license without sitting a theory or practical test.

Can you please confirm if this is true?

I believe your friend's advice is incorrect.

To convert your license you need to sit and pass a practical and theory test and your current license needs to be written in the English language.

The Philippines is a non exempt country which is the reason for having to sit the practical and theory tests.

If you need further clarification phone the free NZTA Driver Licensing line on 0800 822 422.
