Can you still sit your full license if you have 50 demerit points?

My understanding of the rules are yes you can still sit for your full licence with 50 demerit points against you.

Remember, if you accumulate 100 or more active demerit points in any two-year period, your licence can be suspended for three months.

Whatever you have done wrong to gain 50 demerit points needs to be addressed otherwise you won't be driving for long.
