Land Transport rule 35001/1 requires a vehicle to have a WoF no more than 30 days old when it's sold. The rule doesn't apply, however, if the buyer acknowledges the vehicle has been sold with a current WoF more than 30 days old.

The best protection a seller can have is to have that acknowledgement in writing and signed by the purchaser.

Our advice if you're buying - ask for a fresh WoF if the current one is more than 30 days old, and don't commit to purchasing until it's been done and any rejected items repaired and the new warrant issued.
