The distinctive next generation Outlander is built on an entirely new platform with a wealth of interior and technology upgrades.

Following the runaway success of Mitsubishi Motors’ first-ever online pre-order platform, the majority of this first shipment has already been secured by eager customers, who flocked to the Mitsubishi Motors NZ (MMNZ) website to lodge deposits for the new SUV.

“We knew interest in the next-generation Outlander was high; so high that we made the unprecedented move to give customers the opportunity to secure early stock by registering their interest online and paying a deposit,” said Reece Congdon, MMNZ Head of Marketing & Corporate Affairs. “We were optimistic of a positive response, but the reality exceeded our expectations.”

Customers were invited to pay a $500 online deposit to secure their new Outlander up until 1 October, 2021, after which time the pre-launch platform is replaced with full launch information. The deposit was fully refundable should any customers change their mind.

The success of the pre-order campaign has led MMNZ to repeat the offer for the next generation Outlander PHEV, due to arrive early 2022. Deposits for the plug-in hybrid model can be made online from 1 October, 2021.

“With Outlander PHEV cemented as NZ’s all-time highest selling PHEV, we’re excited to bring the next generation to the increasing number of Kiwis turning to plug-in hybrid solutions to reduce their vehicle emissions,” said Congdon.

“Being number one in this sector puts us in a very strong position to attract a new generation of PHEV customers, incentivised by the Clean Car Discount, which makes us optimistic of another strong uptake of our online deposit offer.”
