Bike Lights Project

Over the last several years, AA District Councils have worked with Police, local councils and businesses to address the concern that children are not adequately visible while cycling to and from school. Cyclists can see cars, but cars don’t always see cyclists, especially school kids on their smaller bikes. Encouraging kids to use bike lights now will hopefully see them continue these easy safety habits well into the future.

Through fundraising and sponsorship, bike lights have been purchased and distributed to schools and community groups in Canterbury, Otago, Southern Lakes and Southland, with growth to new regions expected in the years ahead.
