Frequently asked questions

In New Zealand, most drivers progress through three licence stages: Learner, Restricted, and Full. You'll first pass a theory test to get your Learner Licence, then a practical driving test to move to your Restricted Licence. After gaining driving experience and meeting the eligibility requirements, you'll take a final practical test to obtain your Full Licence. Each stage helps you build the skills and confidence needed to drive safely and independently.
