Transport Service License (TSL)

The application for a TSL can be completed at any AA Driver and Licensing location. Drivers and operators of freight, vehicle recovery and passenger services industries are required to comply with a range of rules and regulations. For most this includes holding an appropriate transport service licence (TSL).

The licence shows that the organisation or person is 'fit' to operate their specific type of service and knows the laws and practices relating to the safe and proper operation of a transport service.

Vehicle Entry Compliance

Vehicle Entry Compliance is conducted at AA sites throughout New Zealand. This service is for imported used motor vehicles prior to being registered for on road use in New Zealand.

The inspection consists of a documentation check to ensure that the vehicle was built to acceptable standards and a thorough examination to ensure that the vehicle is still safe. Some systems on the vehicle, such as brakes and structure, are subjected to an invasive inspection, and an exhaust emission tailpipe test is also conducted.
