The New Zealand Automobile Association (AA) has a long standing contractual and partnership relationship with NZ Transport Agency for both the range of vehicle and driver licensing services and working together on behalf of motorists.

Learner licence, restricted licence, full licence, licence, renewals and replacements, overseas conversions and International driving permits are just some of the full range of the NZ Transport Agency Driver Licensing transactions processed by the AA.
Each year AA processes more than 1,000,000 driver licensing transactions and regularly processes 80% - 82% of all driver licensing transactions in New Zealand each month. In May 2010, AA processed its 12,500,000th driver licensing transaction.
Transport Service License (TSL)
Drivers and operators of freight, vehicle recovery and passenger services industries are required to comply with a range of rules and regulations. For most this includes holding an appropriate transport service licence (TSL).
The licence shows that the organisation or person is 'fit' to operate their specific type of service and knows the laws and practices relating to the safe and proper operation of a transport service.
Full details on the Transport Agency requirements around the TSL can be found on the NZ Transport Agency website.
The application for a TSL can be completed at any one of the AA Driver & Vehicle Licensing outlets. Find your closest here.
Provided by a network of AA Testing Stations, AA Centres and AA Licensing Agents right across New Zealand. Changes of Ownership, Re-Licensing (Rego's), New Licence Plates, Road User Charges are just some of the full range of the tansactions processed by the AA.
Vehicle Entry Compliance
Vehicle Entry Compliance is conducted at AA sites throughout New Zealand. This service is for imported used motor vehicles prior to being registered for on road use in New Zealand. The inspection consists of a documentation check to ensure that the vehicle was built to acceptable standards and a thorough examination to ensure that the vehicle is still safe. Some systems on the vehicle, such as brakes and structure, are subjected to an invasive inspection, and an exhaust emission tailpipe test is also conducted.
