AA Mechanical Breakdown Insurance keeps Kiwi drivers mobile and offers more flexibility with two new products

While general car insurance is widely understood in New Zealand, the AA is bringing mechanical breakdown (MBI) insurance to the attention of Kiwi with the launch of Advantage and Advantage Plus. AA MBI, delivered with partner Autosure Insurance Limited, protects drivers from a wide range of unexpected mechanical and electrical car bills, now with two new cover options to suit their vehicle and budget.
“Our new products, Advantage and Advantage Plus are about giving people more choice,” says Ben Rose, the AA’s Head of Financial Services.
“This includes optional benefits like consumables, travel disruption and AA Roadside Assistance cover as well as a longer 30-day ‘free look’ period, giving our Members and customers extra confidence when they sign up.”
Advantage offers cover up to $5,000 or market value, while Advantage Plus covers up to 10,000, 12,500 or $15,000 and includes cover for modern safety, comfort and performance technology. Both products offer EV and hybrid battery cover, while clearer servicing expectations will help avoid issues at claim time.
“The AA understands what Kiwi motorists need, including flexibility when it comes to cover and their budget,” added Rose.
“These new products reflect our focus on evolving our products to support Members and customers now and into the future.”
Earlier this month the AA launched a new AA Life Insurance product, which followed a new AA Travel Insurance product launched in December last year.
“Step by step, we’re creating thoughtfully designed and useful direct-to-consumer products that make financial services simpler, more accessible and easier for Kiwi to access than ever before,” Rose concluded.
