AA welcomes Government commitment to complete the Western Ring Route

"Today's announcement brings us one step closer to the 2015 reality of having a western ring route which Auckland motorists can use as an alternative to State Highway 1."

"Building the Waterview Connection and completing the Western Ring Route will not only ease traffic congestion, it will deliver significant economic benefits for New Zealand and the Auckland region," says Simon Lambourne, Auckland transport spokesman.

"The AA will ensure it is consulted by the PPP Steering Group so that motorists' views are taken into consideration during the preparation of the PPP report for the Government," says Mr Lambourne.
