Hi,

Can you please confirm if/when/where it is legal to display a 'For Sale' sign in the window of a used vehicle for sale? We live in the Tauranga district.

Assuming you are a private seller, selling your own private vehicle, there is no law as such that would prevent you from putting a for sale sign in your car. However, there may be some council by-laws that prevent you from parking a vehicle for sale on specific roads.
Also, you cannot obscure the vision in the rear window if the car is being driven around.
