Hi.
I’m buying a 1999 Caldina 2L4x4 auto. It’s only clocked 54000km(verified). All fluids are clear, my mechanic approves the wagon, and reckons I’ll be trouble free for a good few years.
But I’m wondering how long the transmission fluid is good for - considering it’s been in there for 20 years. Do I need to get that serviced?

Hi there,
Yes it would be best to have the transmission fluid changed as often the interval would be on time or km's travelled whatever came first for example 3 years 50,000kms. I would recommend speaking with a transmission specialist to see if there is an internal filter that could also need replacement.
