Hi,
I have a boot leak in my 2016 Mazda 3 Hatch - I've done tests with the hose and initially thought it was due to water coming through the tail light seals however these were replaced and it is still leaking. It only seems to happen on days were the rain is both heavy & prolonged but will completely soak the underlay the spare tyre is on.
I spoke to the Mazda dealership and they recommended to take it to a panel beaters to diagnose the location which, according to them, would be quicker and cheaper. Would this be the best course of action and has anyone else had a similar issue (does seem common with Mazda 3's).
Cheers

Hi,

The tail lights are the usual suspects however the upper seal in the boot can also leak if it is full of leaf litter and other debris, or if the seal is poorly fitted. It may be worth further stripping and investigation with a panel beater, especially if the boot itself needs adjustment.
