I have a Holden Royale 1998, has a brand new heavy duty battery, checked all leads and terminals aok. Have been driving car all weekend with no issues .Went to drive car this evening, its completely dead, nothing happens when try key in ignition,no noise,no clicks absolutely nothing. An Engineer friend of mine suggested an Earthing Fault .

Any idea would be extremely helpful

Cheers

There are many things that could be causing this problem. I'm assuming that when you say nothing happens, that there are no ignition lights etc. How about the interior light or park lights? These operates whether the key is on or not, so if they're not working either, then start at the battery and work from there.
If you're certain that the battery is OK and you have 12 volts at the battery, it's a case of following the circuit from the battery to find the fault. Your friend's suggestion is one possibility, so check if the lead from the (-) terminal is making contact at the battery and on the body of the car (Earth). If these are making good connections and you're sure the earth is OK, start with the (+) live side.
Again, check the battery terminal is making good contact. Then check the main fuse, connections at the starter motor solenoid and other live feeds to see that power is getting to the fuse box and ignition switch.
To be honest, if everything seems fine up until this point, you may need to get the car to an auto-electrician. There could be problems in the fuse box, a wiring connection or with the ignition switch etc, but there's only so much you can do with limited knowledge and equipment.
