Hi,
We are looking for an auto 4WD around $12k, not used for rugged offroading. Is the first generation Nissan Qashqai/Dualis a good choice as i have heard a few issues with CVT transmissions or are there better choices for this price range.
Thanks

Early generation CVT transmissions certainly caused problems, but later ones on vehicles such as the Qashqai/Dualis have been quite reliable. However, you need to be aware that the Qashqai/Dualis is not 4WD, so if that's important to you, this will not be the right vehicle.
In this price range, it may not be easy finding a good late model 4WD or AWD vehicle. Perhaps the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV may fit the bill?
