Hi, I brought my car to be fixed at the Panel Beater and the cost are covered by insurance (using ASB Bank car insurance). The first time I brought it there, it came back with some minor details not done well. I brought it back to him a second time to fix it up and he did fix those details up but the fixing up created other minor details that need fixing.

I thought the panel beater about it and he got upset. I don't feel like I can trust him with it anymore. I told my insurance company about it and they say I have to bring it back to the panel beater and only if the panel beater doesn't want to fix it, will they send an assessor to assess the car. Is this the industry's standard practice?

Do you have any advice about how I can deal with this?

Hi there,
Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, if you have issues with the repair, you must give the repairer first right of repair and as long as they are willing to carryout the repairs.
Only after this, if you still are not satisfied, call your insurance company to get a second opinion, and maybe take it somewhere else.
