I'm interested in the thought that 125K for a diesel is regarded as a high mileage and therefore to be avoided. The reason is because I was talking to a guy from France recently who said that in France they think nothing of buying a vehicle (diesel) with a million Km on the clock!!. I am not disputing the AA's advice as I understand that any vehicle with 125K+ will require a certain amount of attention, but for people on a restricted budget this same advice leaves them really worried about purchasing anything with a reasonable mileage on the clock - and in their minds leaves them with virtually no options but to take a giant leap of faith. Also I was looking at the Dog and Lemon guide recently and their reviews are so pessimistic, (realistic??) that it would make purchasing any vehicle a traumatic event. Having said all that I do appreciate the service AA provide.
