I just had my wof done on an 2005 toyota ractis, the mechanic said the shocks are starting to leak and needs to be changed prior to wof next year. How safe is this to drive and when should I get the shocks changed? Is this safe to be used In a 3 hour drive to another town? Thanks

Hi there,
Generally as shocks age there is a small amount of oil leakage called misting before it actually starts leaking and becomes a WoF fail. Yours look to be in the 'note' stage and not requiring immediate replacement as yet or it would have failed a WoF. They are letting you know if they get worse they will most likely require replacement next inspection. You might want to check them again in a few months to see how they look.

Thanks for your response Cade! Will it be safe to use for a long drive? Thanks.

Yes I imagine so, if in doubt it might be best to have a workshop look at it for a second opinion.
