Hi There,

I’m 17 on my restricted license and very in to my cars. I’ve heard rumours that if you buy a car on your restricted the has an engine larger than 2litres / 2000cc your insurance goes up drastically?

Also is there a limit on how big an engine restricted license holders can drive?

I’m interested because I’m looking into things like Nissan 300ZX’s with their 3L V6’s etc

This insurance threshold may vary between companies, so it would be best to speak with your insurer about what it would be if any- you may find it is case by case.
