Someone crashed into a car parked behind me which in turn pushed it into my car. The person who crashed has no insurance and neither do I.

I was wondering if the third party or comprehensive insurance of the person who was pushed into my car would possibly cover my damage?

Yes, the car must be 'fit for purpose' and clearly with an illegal plate it fails miserably.

To be fair the dealer may have thought it was OK because the car would have passed a Warrant of Fitness inspection prior to sale.

The problem now is the car will need a new set of plates unless the original can be found which I think would be highly unlikely.

I'm sure the dealer will sort this out once you bring it to their attention.
