I sat my restricted licence in an automatic vehicle but wish to re-sit the test driving a manual.

if I do so will I have to wait the 18 months again before I can get my full licence?

Once your restricted period is complete and you have a full licence, there are no restrictions on what you can drive manual or automatic.

If you sit the test again in a manual then your restricted licence period ends when the time limit for the automatic expires.
