I read your recent answer to Michael in regards to number plate security.

If it's any help, the big hardware stores around the country sell non reversible screws which have become a popular way to secure a number plate and to help reduce the risk of theft, especially for those with personalised plates.

While nothing is totally secure, anything that makes the easy removal of a plate difficult can be a huge deterrent. These screws are designed to allow the use of a screw driver for tightening or to turn the screw in a clockwise direction only

Thanks for the feedback, hopefully this will help people like Michael who want to protect their plates and not step outside the rules in doing so.

Getting advice from the hardware staff on the best way to remove the screws if required, without inflicting damage to either the car or plate would be advisable also.
