Petrol and diesel prices as at 26 March 2018

The first price change in six weeks saw pump prices rise 2 cents per litre (cpl), the first increase in prices for over 11 weeks. But commodity prices had not stayed still through that period, with commodity prices rising during March while the exchange rate fell slightly. Overall, the landed cost of petrol rose over 6cpl, and diesel up over 7.5cpl since the last price movement in mid-February, compared to an increase in retail prices of just 2cpl. Unsurprisingly, due to this disparity the fuel company margins have fallen significantly.
