To become a driving instructor, you must have held a full driver licence for at least two years and obtain an I-Endorsement on your licence. The AA Driving School offers an I-Endorsement Course to help you achieve this. Once you have successfully completed the course, you can apply to NZTA to have the I-Endorsement added to your licence. Please note that the NZTA application is a separate process and incurs an additional fee. As part of the endorsement application, NZTA also requires applicants to meet Fit and Proper Person requirements. If you have any concerns about your eligibility, we recommend contacting NZTA before enrolling in the course.

The course typically includes a four-week pre-course study period followed by two weeks of in class training. For more information, please contact aadtcareers@aa.co.nz 

The cost of the I Endorsement Course is the responsibility of the individual undertaking the training. While the course is based on nationally recognised unit standards, it is not eligible for student loan funding.
