Senior Driver Coaching Session (65+)

Important announcement: Driving Lesson standard price and AA Member price of one-hour driving lessons will increase effective 1 May 2024.

• Coaching Session: Standard price will increase from $80 to $85 / AA Members' price will increase from $65 to $70 (AA Members save $15).

Please note: Any booking made before 1 May 2024 will be charged the current rate. 

Booking information 

When you are ready to book, what’s next? Create a profile in the name of the person taking the lesson. To receive the AA Membership discounts the person taking the lesson must have a valid AA Membership of their own (not a friend / family member).

AA Members

Use your MyAA login username and password when logging in to make a booking.

Non Members

You can become an AA Member, then connect your Membership number on the sign up process to book lessons at the discounted price. Non Members can also create an account and book lessons without an AA Membership.

About the Senior Driver Coaching Session

These lessons are designed for drivers on their full licence who are aged 65 years and over. The coaching session can focus on whatever the individual driver may require. From self-awareness and safety checks, to managing slower reflexes and using new in-car technology.

AA Driver’s Seat Senior Driver Coaching Sessions are designed to help keep you confident behind the wheel and stay safe on the road. This one hour session with a qualified AA Driving Instructor is comprised of three parts:

Briefing (10 min)

• Discussion of your driving history
• Areas you want to improve on
• Vehicle check to confirm it is licensed & roadworthy

Coaching (40 min)

• The Coaching Session is conducted in the driver's own vehicle  Instructor will tailor the coaching to meet individual driver needs

Debrief (10 min)

• Open ended, driver-centred feedback
• Discussion on highlights, areas to work on and future practice
