Winner Announcement
Congratulations to our 2024 competition winner, Caitlin I, who had the closest guess on the number of screws in the jar.
The total number of screws in the jar was 4,616.
Competition Terms and Conditions
1. Participation in this promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions as amended or modified from time to time.
2. The promotion is being run by AA Home Limited located at Level 5, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland 1010 (the “Promoter”).
3. Competition entry data is being collected by LUP Events located at Level 12/127 Creek Street, Brisbane QLD 4000.

5. Promotion Key Details:
- Entries: Entry can be made by ticket holders, using the iOS device supplied by LUP Events to scan their ticket and enter and submit their guess on the screen.
- Entry eligibility: September 2024 Auckland Home Show ticket holders who visit AA Home’s stand (685) and submit a valid entry to the guessing competition (other than directors, employees and their immediate families of the Promoter and their associated companies).
- Number of entries: Unless otherwise specified, each ticket holder may only enter the Competition once. Where there is more than one entry per ticket holder, the first submission only will be counted as a valid entry.
- Promotion Period: This promotion starts at 10am Thursday 5th September 2024 and ends at 6pm, Sunday 8th September 2024.
- Prize: The entrant with the correct or closest entered guess to the actual number of screws in the jar will win a:
- $500 Prezzy card
6. Prize Draw:
- If there is no correct guess, the prize will be awarded to the entrant with the closest entered guess to the actual number of screws in the jar.
- If there is more than one correct or closest guess to the actual number of screws in the jar, a random draw of the qualifying entrants will occur to determine the winner of the prize.
- The actual number of screws in the jar will be recorded on Wednesday 4th September 2024.
- The prize draw will occur on Friday 13th September.
7. Prize Announcement: The prize winner announcement will be made on Monday 16th September.
8. Prize Redemption: The Promoter will contact the winner via email with details of the prize redemption process.
9. Winner Contact: If the Promoter, having made up to 3 attempts to contact the winner, is unable to do so 5 calendar days after the announcement date, then the prize will be forfeited and a new winner will be drawn.
The Prize
1. If a winner is under the age of 18 on the date they are announced, their prize will be awarded to their parent or legal guardian.
2. If a winner does not choose to accept a prize, the prize will be forfeited and a further draw will be conducted from the remaining entries.
3. The prize must be taken as offered and cannot, whether in whole or in part, be redeemed for cash, transferred or exchanged, except at the Promoter’s sole discretion. All other expenses associated with the prize is the responsibility of the winner.
4. In determining the prize winner, the Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Privacy
By entering this promotion you agree that the Promoter may use the personal information collected from you:
1. To conduct this promotion, including determining and notifying the winners and disclosing that information to the prize suppliers and, as required, to regulatory authorities; and
2. For future marketing purposes in accordance with our privacy policy which can be found at www.aa.co.nz/privacy
Promoter Conditions
The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, and in its sole discretion to
1. Request entrants to provide proof of identity and/or proof of valid entry;
2. Disqualify any entrant reasonably believed to have breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper conduct or any conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion;
3. Cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion If this promotion is not capable of running as planned for any reason;
4. Provide a winner with an alternative prize (or part of a prize), of greater or equal monetary value and/or specification if for any reason a prize becomes unavailable.
5. Take any action that may be available if for any reason, the Promoter is not able to conduct the promotion as planned, including due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, any technical difficulties or any other causes beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion.
To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter:
1. Assumes no responsibility for:
i. Any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries;
ii. Any entries not received for any reason during the promotion period;
iii. Any variation in the value of a prize;
iv. Any tax liabilities that may arise from winning the prize;
v. Any prize that may be lost, stolen, forged, damaged or tampered with in any way after it leaves its possession;
vi. Any loss (including indirect and consequential loss) or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion including the supply of goods or services by any person to the prize winner(s), and where applicable to any persons accompanying the prize winner(s);
2. Excludes all warranties in relation to the quality, suitability or merchantability of a prize; and
3. Limits its liability, and that of its employees or agents, for breach of any rights a consumer may have to the payment of the costs of having the prize supplied again.
