A little extra urgency

Louisa B. Saved in the Waikato

When Louisa thought she might be going into labour, getting to her midwife suddenly became pretty important.

It turned out to be Braxton Hicks, but at the time, she was convinced the baby was on the way. She jumped in the car... only to discover it wouldn’t start.

Cue a slightly frantic call to the AA.

The AA Roadservice Officer arrived, got the car going and sent her on her way, all while gently suggesting that perhaps an ambulance might be a better option!

Thankfully, everything turned out fine. And looking back, she has a lot of appreciation for the roadside team.

“I think the roadside team deserves an award for some of the customers they have to deal with... myself included!”

"I still remember the time I was convinced I was going into labour. It turned out to be nothing more than Braxton Hicks, but at the time I was certain the baby was on the way!

Determined to get to my midwife, I jumped in the car... and of course it wouldn't start. Cue full-blown panic. I made a slightly hysterical call to the AA, who very kindly bumped me to the top of the list and sent out a roadside technician.

An incredibly concerned gentleman arrived, worked at lightning speed, got the car going, and sent me on my way. The whole time he was gently suggesting that perhaps an ambulance might be a better option. My response? "I'm sure I'm fine... probably just overreacting thanks to the hormones!"

As it turned out, I was fine. But honestly, I think the roadside team deserves an award for some of the customers they have to deal with... myself included!"
