Angela W. Saved in Hawke's Bay
It was Christmas Day, and the family were heading back to their campsite after meeting the grandparents for lunch, when a speaker plugged into the 12-volt socket in their brand-new vehicle left them with a very flat battery.
Luckily, the AA was on hand to give them a recharge and get them back on the road to continue their Christmas celebrations.
And as for who was responsible?
“Does my hubby get reminded all the time - yes!”
We suspect this might be one AA rescue story that gets brought up for many Christmases to come!
"So, in our brand new vehicle with a 12-volt plug in the back, we were heading to Eskdale Park to meet my parents for Christmas lunch from our camping spot off the Napier-Taupo Road. Hubby decides we need some music and plugs a speaker into the 12-volt.
We go to leave and head back to our camping spot and oops... flat battery.
Call to the AA and AA to the rescue with a recharge! We can now head back to our camping spot for the rest of our Christmas celebrations and join our friends we are camping with.
Does my hubby get reminded all the time - yes! Glad it was him draining the battery and not the teenagers with their devices. This was about 10 years ago."
