Whirinaki Forest Footsteps Tour

Enjoy a full-day guided cultural walking tour in the heart of the Whirinaki Native Rainforest.

On a Whirinaki Forest Footsteps Tour you will learn the history of the forest, the tribal connection to the land and traditional Māori medicine plants. Hear and hopefully meet many of our native birds, as guides call them down from the canopy of the trees above.

You can experience forest bathing – the art of immersing yourself in nature and allowing the forest to heal physically, spiritually and emotionally, by simply ‘being’ in the forest.

The tour includes a picnic lunch filled with Māori delicacies enjoyed by a waterfall, and your day concludes with kawakawa billy tea,

The Whirinaki Forest Footsteps Tour includes transport to and from Rotorua, with pick up from the i-site at 9am daily, and drop off between 4.30pm – 5pm.
