Whangamatā Beach Hop: a rock n’ roll revival

TAP FOR MORE INFO:

A celebration of all the style and sass of the1950s and 60s, Repco Beach Hop is about music, fashion and fun. But mostly it’s about the cars.

For five days at the end of March (22-26 in 2023), the sunny surf town of Whangamatā becomes home to retro caravans and rockabilly style; dancing, dragsters and a huge number of incredibly impressive classic vehicles as the Beach Hop rolls into town.

The Whangamatā Beach Hop includes parades of hot rods and vintage vehicles, nostalgia fairs selling retro wares, live bands and a party atmosphere that permeates the whole town.

With more than 100,000 people attending the festival and thousands of classic cars on show, the Repco Beach Hop is one of the largest events of its kind in the world.
