Update - October 2020
Following the suspension of the programme earlier this year we have been reviewing the opportunities to improve AA Ignition. The programme first launched almost 7 years ago and we have been reviewing feedback from Members and students on how the programme could be improved, what the current pain points are and how we could better service the learning to drive journey.
We have also recently commissioned a survey to AA Members, AA Smartfuel customers and AA Driving School students resulting in over 3,000 replies which we will use to help shape the new programme over the coming months.
While full analysis is ongoing, there were some key messages from the survey to guide our review:
- Over 90% of respondents agreed that professional driving lessons help make a safer driver
- There is strong interest in a package discount option for AA Members
The AA will now be working with its key partners to build a framework that supports the whole learner driver journey, with a future discounted lesson package for AA Members.
This comprehensive review is forecast to take up to 6 months. We understand that for a lot of you the new programme will not be finalised before your learner journey is complete.
To support your in-car tuition in the interim we have a nationwide network of expert AA Driving Instructors and tutors that offer paid Driving Lessons, Simulated Driving Tests and Defensive Driving Courses.
Thank you for your interest in the AA and the learning to drive journey. We are looking forward to sharing details of our improved programme and exciting AA Member Benefit discount with you in the coming months.
