Dress up for the Hamilton Sevens

View the map

The Sevens is a rugby tournament with just as much action off the pitch as there is on it.

For 18 years, the Sevens was synonymous with Wellington. But since 2018 the highlight of the summer rugby calendar has had a new home in Hamilton

As much about fancy dress as it is rugby, the Hamilton Sevens continues the tradition of fun and festivities in the heart of the Waikato.

With 16 of the top international rugby teams competing across two days and each team of seven playing for two seven-minute halves, the on-field action is fast-paced and frenetic.

Soak up the party atmosphere in the stands where costumed crowds cavort in the aisles, or enjoy the new activities in the entertainment zone and family fun fair.
