Removing car parks

'If car parking is removed from arterial roads, what would be the best thing to replace it?'

The AA asked the leading candidates to become Auckland's next mayor their views:

Generally only one side of the road is jammed, towards town centres in morning and away in evening so why not just one side in morning and the other in evening. We need to stop AT trying to change how we live and redirecting them to service how we do live.

Properly planned rapid transport lanes. Smaller buses.

Efeso Collins hs  Efeso Collins

In my view, if we are reducing car lanes, the next priority is replacing these with bus lanes, as I see a thriving public transport system as central to my plan to get Auckland moving, and to unlock our chronic traffic issues.
